Description

A company that provided annotations and timecodes for educational videos on medicine experienced problems in searching for existing videos because of the lack of search filters in the systems used. To make the process more effective, they contacted the Rozdoum team. They wrote scripts for the internal systems to connect to Jira’s API and created tickets for videos. After that, they set up the ScriptRunner plugin in Jira to display all the information related to the videos in Jira, to enable employees to find what they search for.

Goal

The goal was to improve search & filter capabilities for videos in the existing databases by using certain filters and labels.

Solution

To improve the search mechanisms of both systems used, Rozdoum specialists optimized the process of saving videos and mapping information on them. In other words, our team has linked the two systems that the company was using as storage and databases of the saved videos to Jira. First, they developed scripts for the customer’s internal systems to address Jira’s API and create tickets for each of the videos to be filled with the information. Then, they set up the ScriptRunner plugin in Jira, which displayed all the information about the videos in all the tickets’ fields.
