Description

A large IT company aimed to increase their agility and scalability by moving its instances to the Cloud. 

Goal

The main goal was to provide a comfortable work environment from anywhere. The client had Jira and Confluence instances, thus we decided to choose a gradual migration strategy.

Solution

We started with analyzing two instances and detecting possible issues, which were then agreed on with the client. It was necessary to merge global settings between source and target Jira: issue types, statuses, priorities, link types, schemes, user roles, projects, user groups, and other custom fields. These preliminary checks allowed us to make the migration process smooth and fast. Jira Cloud Migration Assistant was of great help for merging. However, in order to automate the process, we developed our own additional migration tools.
